The charter vessel Reel Teaser is a regular Exmouth visitor at this time of year. Skipper Ross Newton and partner Tracey Rushford are highly renowned gamefishers who have specialised in catching Broadbill Swordfish over recent years.

The boat fished over last weekend, with junior anglers Jacquie and Chris Rushford on board, tagging marlin and stayed at sea to have a crack at another Sword on Saturday night. However, this time it was yellowfin tuna that took the drifting squid baits and what yellowfin they were.

Pictured is Jacquie Rushford with a pending Australian and WA female record 92.6kg yellowfin on 37kg line. Jacquie fought the fish for 40 minutes from just past midnight. Chris ‘Critter’ Rushford is pictured with a pending Australian and WA junior record 79.2kg yellowfin on 37kg line. Chris’ fight lasted 30 minutes.
